Day One: Arrive in Melbourne where you are met and transferredto yourcity accommodation; for 3N (incl; last night).
Day Two: 8am start todayfor a very special outingtouring our unforgettable Great Ocean Road Drive – powerful, dramatic and majestic!Visit coastal cliff lookouts, rugged surf beaches, river inlets and fern gullies, scenic ApolloBay, beachfront town of Lorne, Port Campbell and Otway National Parks plusdelicious two course Hotel lunch. Returns 7:30pm
Day Three: Another action packed day, Island coach touring to see little fairy Penguins as they come ashore at dusk. Observe these cute little flightless birds from your elevated viewing platform as they clamber over rocks to the safety of their burrows (nests) to feed their waiting chicks. VisitSan Remo fishing village, a Koala Conservation Centre, Seal Rocks to see our fur seals at play plus chance to handfeed wallabies and kangaroos. Return approx 11 pm.
Day Four: Melbourne, Essendon – Mungo Lodge. Departing at 0800 we head toMungoNational Park, 90 miles NE of Mildura, arriving in time for morning tea prior to an introductory tour of the area.After lunch guests are escorted on a more comprehensive tour of the lake and China Walls, allowing time for private exploration of this historicalregion that claims ownership of extremely early signs of our own human evolution, as we know it. Lodge accommodation tonight. Flight time 2hrs total.
Day Five: Mungo Lodge – Marree, Lake Eyre. Following breakfast, we soar over Broken Hill, LakeFrome and the northern FlindersRanges to arrive at Marree, situated at the beginning of the Birdsville and Oodnadatta Tracks. Today you will be guided by an Arabunna elder who will take you along the Oodnadatta Track fringing the shores of the GreatArtesianBasin, taking you right out to the vast salt crust that is Lake Eyre South. With commentary and lunch enroute you will be familiarised with the hills and springs that most people would just drive right past. Accommodation is at a rustic Outback Hotel. Flight time 2 hrs.
Day Six: Marree – Curtin Springs Station. Waking to the sounds of nature, guests enjoy breakfast before re-joining their aircraft for a scenic flight across the entire landmass of Lake Eyre arriving into Curtin Springs Station, steeped in history bound by amazing stories of struggle and triumph. Morning tea is served before the tour sets out for MountConner, a significantly large mountain plateau, which you will have seen from above during the arrival flight. Today you are introduced to the area by an expert guide with a vast knowledge of the region. Tonight enjoy classic Station Accommodation. Flight time 2.5 hrs.
Day Seven: Curtin Springs Station – Ayers Rock, Olgas – KingsCanyon. Early start for breakfast (common to station life).Departing Curtin Springs Station we continue to Yulara. Guests are escorted on a guided tour of the Red Centre's more famous natural wonders, the spectacular Olgas and the indisputable grandeur of Ayers Rock. After lunch a brief flight to Kings Creek Station, in time for sunset. Tonight enjoy luxurious safari tents at a Wilderness Lodge. Flight time 30 mins.
Day Eight: KingsCanyon, Watakarra. Waking to the smell of spinifex warming in the morning sun, enjoy an early breakfast prior to an overland journey to KingsCanyon. Guides prepare for a trek which leads guests around the heights of this spectacular canyon. Lunch is served within KingsCanyon prior to returning to the lodge to relax. Kings Creek Station is a bustling operation, only a short walk away with many activities available. Second night at same Wilderness Lodge.No flight today.
Day Nine: Kings Creek Station – Coober Pedy – Andamooka. Wishing farewell to your hosts after breakfast, we fly over the Canyon and on to Yulara for fuel before proceeding to our famous Opal capital Coober Pedy. Lunch is served during an escorted tour of the famous Breakaways. Continuing this day, we fly further to Andamooka in time for an easy trek around this very small, albeit interesting opal town. Classic Outback Hotel Accommodation tonight. Flight time 2.5 hrs
Day Ten: Andamooka – Olympic Dam – Parachilna. We depart after breakfast for a scenic flight over the gargantuan Olympic Dam Mine, landing right beside the awesome Wilpena Pound before you are transferred to the famous deluxe Prairie Hotel for lunch and then a tour to Brachina Gorge within the FlindersRanges. The creative outback cuisine here would rival many classy city restaurants. The 'feral antipasto' is always a hit!Accommodation tonight is at a world famous Outback Hotel.Flight time 30 mins.
Day Eleven: Parachilna – Port Lincoln. Following breakfast we track Westtowardsour famous Coastal Fishing capital, the scenic Bay of Port Lincoln flying over Whyalla, continuing down the Eyre Peninsula. On arrival lunch is within the town centre prior to a tour of the rugged coastline and a sand dune ride! Afternoon sunset soon turns to night which means fresh local crayfish is on order.Accommodation tonight is at an impressivewaterfront Hotel or similar. Flight time 2 hrs.
Day Twelve: Port Lincoln – Naracoorte – Melbourne. After a delicious breakfast,guests depart Port Lincoln to fly across the topographical points of both Yorke and FleurieuPeninsulas to arrive at Naracoorte where we enjoy lunch before an escorted tour of the town's mystical caves. Depart Naracoorte tracking homeward bound for Essendon, Melbourne arriving at 1700. Flight time 3 hrs.
Day Thirteen: Prepare to depart Melbourneor continue South to cool coastal capital Adelaide and a chance to visit our World Famous Wineries and/or KangarooIsland. We offer flexible Itineraries. ReturnAirport transfer is also included on your day of departure.
